I had lost weight before but it slowly crept back on. I knew that I wanted to do something about it, so my wife gave me the membership as a Christmas present.
I set my goal to lose 20kg. I changed my diet for healthier options and I did a lot of research about the right things to eat when training. At the gym I discovered that I love running and really enjoyed my exercise. I lost the weight I wanted to and just kept going. Going to the gym is now part of my daily routine, I fit it in around whatever else is happening. Being disciplined from the start helped me keep at it and reach my full potential.
I also started a weights programme with the help of the trainers at the gym. The gym has all the facilities that I need and the staff are very supportive and encouraging. I generally do a cardio workout, running 5ks on the treadmill and then some weights.
I don’t think I will ever go back to being overweight again, I love the exercise and the feeling of being fit and healthy. I feel better every day for losing weight and being active.
